[LG styler] The drain tray (bucket) does not fill with water

    Troubleshooting

Is the drain tray (bucket) not filled with water after you have run the Styling or Dry cycle?

    Causes and Symptoms

    • The drain tray is not properly installed.
    • Steam leaked through an opening in the door leaving water in another place.
    • Drying was incomplete.

The styler gathers vapor and water created during steaming or drying and pumps it up to the drain tray.
At this time, if the drain tray is not properly installed, water may not fill the tray but remain in the bottom of the machine.
In addition, if the door is not completely closed and leaves an opening, water may leak through it and gather in the door gasket or the tray.
If your styler is loaded with too many clothes or heavy coats, this may interfere with the circulation of air and drying so that the drain tray may not fill with water.

    Try this

Is the drain tray properly installed in your styler?

? Remove the drain tray, and reinstall it making sure that it clicks into place.

If the drain tray is not properly installed, water expected to be collected in the drain tray may leak out and remain in the bottom of the machine.
Proper installation of the drain tray makes a clicking sound. Remove and reinstall the tray properly.

Install the drain tray with a click

Is there an opening visible while running the styler?

? Before you run the styler make sure that you shut the door properly. Ensure that the door gasket is tightly contacting the door by firmly pushing it several times.

If the door is not properly closed while the styler is running, steam may leak out and leave water in the door gasket or the tray, and thus no water may be collected in the drain tray.
Make sure that you press the door gasket so that it can seal the door tightly before you run the styler.

Did you run your styler loaded with too many clothes or heavy coats?

? Reduce the number of clothes to provide enough space for ventilation before you run your styler.

If the styler does not have enough space for ventilation, the circulation of warm air may be hindered, leading to incomplete drying and failure in regard to water collecting in the drain tray.
In case of big winter coats such as puffer jackets, hang only one at a time at the center of the moving hanger and then run Dry.
Leave enough spaces between thick and heavy clothes so that they do not overlap before you start the styler or the Automatic Dry cycle.

Reduce the number of clothes to facilitate air circulation
