Let's find out more.
If your dryer freezes during cold winter weather, it will stop operating within 10 minutes and display an [OE], [Drain], [Empty Water Tank], or [drn] error.
Steam dryers may display a [Refill Steam Water] or [Add] error and stop operating.
I see an [OE], [Drain], [Empty Water Tank], or [drn] error.
If a drain hose is installed, check if it is frozen.
→ Thaw the frozen part of the drain hose by soaking it in warm water for about 10 minutes.
If the drain hose is difficult to detach, wrap the hose and connection area with a warm towel for about 10 minutes to thaw it.
※ If you detached the drain hose to thaw it, reconnect it to the dryer.
Not connecting the drain hose can cause leaks.
If you are using a water tank (drain tank), check if it is frozen.
→ If it is frozen, thaw the water tank by soaking it in warm water.
※ Always empty the water tank after using the dryer during cold winter weather.

→ How to defrost the inside of the dryer by pouring hot water
1. Turn off the dryer and remove all laundry.
2. Remove both the internal and external filters, then pour less than 1 liter of warm water (around 60°C/140°F) into the empty space.
Be sure to use lukewarm water.
Using excessively hot water may damage the dryer.
Pouring too much water may cause leakage from the bottom of the dryer, so pour an appropriate amount.
3. Reinstall the internal and external filters, and wait for about 30 minutes for the ice to melt.
4. After 30 minutes, turn on the power and press the [Start/Pause] button to run the dryer.
※ If the [OE] error or [Empty Water Tank] / [drn] error code does not appear on the display within 10 minutes of operation, the dryer has been defrosted.
※ If the error code continues to appear, contact LG Customer Service.
