[LG Refrigerator] Refrigerator Door Seal Issues

    Troubleshooting

    Try this.

Is the door not closing completely or closing loosely?

? Ensure stored food items do not protrude past the edge of the shelves.

Overfilling the refrigerator can prevent the door from closing properly.

Is the door not closing properly because a shelf or bottle rack is misplaced?

? Remove and reinsert the shelf or bottle rack correctly.

After cleaning the refrigerator, ensure the shelves and drawers are properly positioned, as misplacement can prevent the door from closing.

Is the refrigerator cover or a plastic bag stuck in the door when opening or closing it?

? Remove any obstructions to allow the door to close properly.

If there's a cover on top of the refrigerator or plastic bags stored in the door compartments, remove them as they may obstruct the door from closing.

Is there debris on the gasket preventing the refrigerator door from sealing properly?

    ? Clean the door gasket.

    1. 1. Wet a towel.
    2. 2. Heat the towel in a microwave to create a steam towel.
(The towel should be hot enough to require wearing gloves. You can also soak the towel in hot water.)
    3. 3. Thoroughly wipe all four sides of the door gasket.
    4. 4. Reheat the towel in the microwave and repeat steps 3 and 4 two to three times.
    5. 5. After cleaning, dry the gasket with a dry towel to prevent condensation.
    6. 6. Keep the door closed for at least two hours to allow the gasket to seal properly.

Is the gasket loose, preventing the refrigerator door from sealing properly?

If a section of the gasket is loose or detached, press it firmly back into the groove on the refrigerator door.

    Wait! Here are more tips.
When leveling the refrigerator, tilt it slightly backward. This positioning improves the seal between the gasket and the door.
