Let's find out more.
In cold weather, the water supply hose or drain hose inside the washing machine may freeze.
Pouring warm water into the drum can thaw the washing machine.
However, opening the drain pump filter while the washing machine is still partially frozen may cause the water inside the drain pump to freeze, which can detach the drain pump filter handle.
Try this.
Thaw the washing machine with warm water.
? Melt the ice inside the drum and drain hose, then check if the washing machine operates normally.
If no water comes out, the ice hasn't completely melted. Wait a bit longer and try again.
Do not pour boiling water into the drum as it may cause burns. Use warm water.
Remove the detached drain pump filter from the washing machine.
? Secure the protruding part of the drain pump filter with pliers and twist it to remove it.
If it doesn't come out easily, try thawing the washing machine again using the method described above.
If the protruding part of the drain pump filter is damaged and cannot be removed, contact LG Customer Service to request a service visit.
① Place the spring on the center protrusion of the drain pump filter.
② Place the drain pump filter handle on top of the drain pump filter.
③ Press the filter and handle together to assemble them.
