Let's find out more.
A new dryer may have an odor when first used.
Chemicals (insulation) used inside the dryer motor/compressor/heater
can
produce an odor when the dryer operates and these components heat up.
A burning smell may occur during initial drying cycles as the
motor/compressor/heater generates heat.
During drying, hot air circulates inside the drum. If dust, lint, or
other foreign substances accumulate on the rubber packing or inside the
dryer,
they can be drawn into the motor area by the circulating
air, causing a burning smell.
Using too much detergent when washing clothes can leave residue on the
laundry,
which may then produce a burning smell when exposed to the
dryer's heat.
